We’ve got some sinister stories that link-up our beers with nearby Richmond Park. So to commemorate the spooky season, we’re bringing you our FIRST EVER Halloween quiz to the Tap Room.
For one day only, Saturday 30th October 2021, come and have a go at our table-top quiz while sipping on spooktacular beers. Big prizes to be won!! Tables of 1-8 welcome!!!
Gallows is the first ever beer we sold and it still tastes like the original recipe. Juicy and sweet with aromas of ripe mangos. It’s named after the gallows that once stood by Ladderstile gate. The infamous gallows are no longer in the park. But visitors can stop by Gallows Pond which gets its name from the gallows that stood nearby. Spookily, the pond was chocked by an invasive weed so had to be re-dug in 2015, close to its original site.
Killcat is another of our core range beers with an eerie story behind it. A highly moreish pale ale with hoppy flavours of grapefruit and lemon, with a floral aroma from the blend of dry hops – Tahieke, Waimea and Motueka. This beer is named after Killcat corner in Richmond Park, the origins of which remain a mystery.
Plus, our new Porter Jackdaw will be on tap. Moreish with chocolate and coffee undertones. We can’t wait for you to try it. Stand beneath a flock of jackdaws on a wintery day and they create a gothic melancholy atmosphere. Spooky.
So what are you waiting for?

As a new humanitarian crisis unfolds, our thoughts are with the people of Afghanistan during this troubling time. It may not be making front page news so much lately (thanks to the petrol crisis) but it’s still happening.

OKTOBERFEST 2021 lands at the tap room on Saturday! We’ve got an awesome beer line-up. Some of our own and superbly quaffable Bavarian beers for you to drench yourself in.
What beers have we got?
On tap we have two traditional beers from Paulaner’s. Oktoberfest Bier – Germany’s favourite Oktoberfest beer. The glass is full of October sunshine, strong and golden. Plus, Munich Lager, one of the most popular Munich lagers going. A perfect balance of malty character and the light bitterness of hops.
We’ll be relaunching our very own Märzen Schöne Eiche. A rich malty taste and a lovely amber colour. The Vienna malt provides a biscuity base and then lots of German Pilsner Malt to round it off.
What’s more, we’ll have our Phantom Kölsch-style lager. Crisp, refreshing and subtly fruity. Our brand-new Treebox Blonde Ale. A hoppy finish with subtle flavours of honeydew melon and apricot. Additionally, we have our classics on tap, including Spankers Hill West Coast IPA 5.9%, Killcat Pale Ale 3.7%, and Amelia Pale Ale 4.2%.
For Cask Ale fans, we’ve got two of our freshest Cask Ale batches. Tread Lightly Fresh Hop Table Lager 3.6% is making its debut. Crisp, delicate, lightly carbonated, and easy drinking (low carbon footprint) lager. Brewed using locally picked green hops (from Epsom, thanks Jackie & Chris!!). Alongside the insanely quaffable West Coast Pale 4.3% with notes of marmalade and pine in this cracking golden pale beer. Dry-hopped with Centennial and Bravo for a deliciously smooth finish.
So what are you waiting for? Bag the last remaining tickets while you can!!!
Can’t wait to wrap your lips around an unbelievably quaffable beer??
Wait no more!! We’re relaunching our Märzen Schöne Eiche just in time for our first ever Oktoberfest at the Tap Room.
This banging beer is a traditional Bavarian beer of choice for Oktoberfest – an amber lager. This style is rarely brewed in the UK, which makes it all the more special. It’s got a rich, malty taste from Munich Malt and a biscuity base from the Vienna Malt, we’ve used in the mashing. And of course, there’s a ton of German Pilsner Malt in the mix as well.
All the hops used are traditional German hops, producing a mild bitterness. There is depth and fullness with a slightly sweet finish. BANGIN’
We’ve named this beer Schöne Eiche as it translates to Beautiful Oak in German. Hence, this beer is a celebration of the many oak trees which adorn Richmond Park. Nothing shows off their brilliance more, than the changing of the seasons throughout autumn. These beautiful Oaks are the National tree both here and in Germany.
We also must give two special mentions about the imagery used on our can. Firstly, to Tim Clifton who caught this amazing shot in Richmond Park. ‘Red deer under red oak in autumn.’ Thank you for allowing us to use this picture which fitted in so perfectly with our autumn amber beer.
Secondly, we must thank the Friends of Richmond Park, without them we would never have found this picture. It’s the main October image for this year’s Richmond Park calendar, with 45 wildlife and landscape images, is now on sale from https://www.frp.org.uk/shop/
Whatever you do get ready for a taste sensation with this beer and keep an eye on the webshop for its release. Alternatively, snap up the last remaining tickets to our first ever OKTOBERFEST at the tap room as we’ll have Schöne Eiche pouring straight from the tap!!!

Our banging core range beer, Killcat Pale Ale 3.7% is back in cans this week.
Crisp, hoppy, and refreshing with flavours of lemon and lime. A tasty session pale that makes for the perfect drink after a hard day’s work.
We’ve dry-hopped this beer with a number of our favourite New Zealand varieties for bright citrus and floral notes. This helps make it a delicious session pale packed with a punch that belies its strength.
As with all our beers, each one pays tribute to our favourite green space – Richmond park. Killcat takes its name from the sinister sounding Killcat Corner, on the east side of Richmond Park – near Robin Hood Gate. Its origin remains a mystery.
Stock-up on Killcat cans now our webshop.
Have a hoppy weekend!
